Payments can be completed using Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa and e-check through this Internet site or by mailing the amount due, including any interest penalties, to the Treasurer’s Office. Cash, checks, eChecks, Discover Card, MasterCard and Visa can be accepted for payment at the Treasurer’s Office. A service delivery fee is applied to credit card payments and eCheck payments. A cash discount is applied to eCheck payments. Returned checks and returned e-check fees are $30.00 each. Tax sales may NOT be redeemed over the Internet site but Can be redeemed at the Treasurer’s Office.
For Paying Property Taxes Online: Search for your property tax information by your name or by the parcel number. You will need your receipt number to complete the transaction. This is found in the lower left hand corner of the tax bill stub and also in the lower right hand corner of the tax bill immediately proceeded by the tax year.
For Motor Vehicle Tags Renewal: You are eligible to renew online if you have received a renewal notice through the U.S. Postal Service containing the PIN number for online renewals, AND your registration fees are not past due.

Properties due March 31, 2008 and not sold at the annual tax sale on June 16, 2008, will be offered for sale at adjourned tax sales held the third Monday of each month until all the parcels are sold. Please check with the Treasurer’s Office for more information.

We can help you with Property Tax payments, Motor Vehicle Registration and Titling, Driver's License Services and Passport photos. Taxes and Motor Vehicle Registrations can be paid Online at anytime.
For added convenience in making payments, the Treasurer's Office has a drop box located at the entrance of the Courthouse on the north side of the door. Payments made in cash must be made during normal office hours at the Treasurer's Office.
The Driver's License Station is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. -- 1:00 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. -- 4:00 P.M. Written Driver's License exams will be offered till 3:00 P.M. Driving tests can be scheduled between 9 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. by calling the Driver's License Station at 336-6277 or the Treasurer's Office at 712-336-1205, extension 1206.
The State operated DOT Super Station in Spencer is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Saturdays at 8 A.M. until 1 P.M.
Passport photo services are available at the Dickinson County Treasurer's Office and the Dickinson County Driver's License Station Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30. The cost is $10.00 for two photos or $15.00 for four photos. The wallet-sized U.S. Passport Card is now available for people traveling by land and sea between the United States and Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and Bermuda. It is not valid for international travel by air. Citizens applying for both Passport Books and Passport Cards will need to submit four photos.
The Treasurer's Office is closed for county observed holidays which include: New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.

All county offices are now located at the new Courthouse. Parking is available for the Public on the west side of the Courthouse on Highway 71, along the east side on Hill Avenue, and along the south side on 19th Street. The Courthouse entry is located on the west side of the building. The east entry is not yet open to the public. The west entry can be accessed from the west parking lot. Landscaping and additional sidewalks are expected to be completed by September 2008. A grand opening of the new Courthouse will take place in the Spring of 2009. The Courthouse is open from 8 A.M. till 4:30 P.M. Thank you for your patience with our construction zone!
